So I challenged my self with this project. Morning meditation followed by creating a piece of art in 2 minutes. I started this on June 18 and will wrap up on October 15. My garden is a perfect location to start on this venture. Watercolour and flowers, shrubbery go hand in hand. I am also instagraming as I go along. The idea is to paint or draw with a spontaneous fluidity, not worryingabout the outcome. Keeping things looking as fresh as possible. So here goes June 18- June 22, here it is.Enjoy and feel free to leave comments!
Hot off the press! Two new cities unveiled. Las Vegas is one city I haven't been too yet, however I think the color, feel and culture come across well in my illustration. Hong Kong is a seriously cool city! I visited many years ago. I hear it's even cooler now. One day I shall make a return trip! It's always fun researching all the elements, as I piece them together to create my art. I learn so much about the city and it's culture.
This painting was done for a client who owns a candle manufacturing company. She wanted me to incorporate flowers, fruits and other fragrant spices to create a 75x40 painting to go in her dining room. I visited her home so that I came away with a certain feel of the look of her style. I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed the process of creating this painting- I love painting florals ( if you haven't guessed that already!). It took me about a month to do. The medium here is acrylics. It was hard to part with, but I was satisfied when I saw how excited she was , when I unveiled it.
New York City Illustration
This piece feels like "Gotham City'! Quite pleased with it. It took its sweet time. This is the second version of my NYC illustration series. With detailed collages like this there is a lot of back and forth, a lot of gathering of fabric, paper and much more. It's like a knitting a sweater! It was lots of fun to do.
This collection was created from a surface design that I have done for a shower curtain. I have maintained the hand rendered painterly style that I love doing so much with a combination of photoshop. I don't know what I would do without this software! Now I can apply these designs to a wide selection of surfaces. All I need are the manufacturers to come forward!!
