10 Weeks of Portfolio development with Folio Focus. The content has been very good, enjoying it immensely with no huge pressure. Great way to create some collections for Art licensing. Monday we start a new topic and by Friday ideally it's ready to put up on Flickr. The facebook group is really a great support system, we talk, share, and are generally like minded. #risedesignand shine
Some new pieces from my #100daychallenge #ellenuna, weeks 3 and 4.
Thanks to the August Wren's #12monthsofpaint i got into painting Blue and White images. I really enjoyed doing them.
A course run by two very talented, fabulous inspiring women- Lilla Rogers- Owner and creator of the amazing "Lilla Rogers Studio" and Margot Tantau, Art Director of CBK Mid-West. the First of all I want to say that this course has been a great vehicle to force me out of my comfort zone. So far we have done - week 1 Metal, Week 2 fabric and week 3 glass. I was a little sceptical about my ability to do the mock-ups. But I have to say I came through having learnt so much!! It pushed my photoshop skills way beyond when I first started. Working with a mood board forced me to think in a colour scheme and a look that I applied to each assignment thus far. I will go in to the process in more depth after week 4.
So I challenged my self with this project. Morning meditation followed by creating a piece of art in 2 minutes. I started this on June 18 and will wrap up on October 15. My garden is a perfect location to start on this venture. Watercolour and flowers, shrubbery go hand in hand. I am also instagraming as I go along. The idea is to paint or draw with a spontaneous fluidity, not worryingabout the outcome. Keeping things looking as fresh as possible. So here goes June 18- June 22, here it is.Enjoy and feel free to leave comments!
This painting was done for a client who owns a candle manufacturing company. She wanted me to incorporate flowers, fruits and other fragrant spices to create a 75x40 painting to go in her dining room. I visited her home so that I came away with a certain feel of the look of her style. I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed the process of creating this painting- I love painting florals ( if you haven't guessed that already!). It took me about a month to do. The medium here is acrylics. It was hard to part with, but I was satisfied when I saw how excited she was , when I unveiled it.
This collection was created from a surface design that I have done for a shower curtain. I have maintained the hand rendered painterly style that I love doing so much with a combination of photoshop. I don't know what I would do without this software! Now I can apply these designs to a wide selection of surfaces. All I need are the manufacturers to come forward!!
